Elizabeth Hathenbruck is incredible! She has such an intuitive ability to read my body, the energy I’m carrying, and the areas where things need to move or release, and then adjusts her approach accordingly. I keep thinking I’ve just had the best massage I’ve ever had—and somehow that keeps happening every time I see her! My body needs different things each time I come in, and Elizabeth is amazing at adapting, changing things up, and working with what my body needs that day. She’s also wonderful at communicating throughout the massage, checking in about pressure and her approach, and making sure my body is responding well. Her energy is incredibly calming, grounding, and accepting. Every time I leave, I genuinely feel like a weight has been taken off of me—not only physically, but mentally and emotionally too. I’m so grateful to have found her! I’ve also had such a great experience with the staff as a whole. Everyone I’ve interacted with has been professional, kind, and flexible. Whenever I’ve needed to call and make an adjustment to an appointment, they’ve been thorough and efficient and have made the process incredibly easy. I also had a massage with another one of their massage therapists once that incorporated a lot of stretching with the massage, and it was incredible—it was exactly what my nerves and body needed at the time. I really appreciate that there seems to be such a range of skills and approaches within the team. Overall, I’ve consistently had wonderful experiences here, both with Elizabeth and with the rest of the staff. I genuinely look forward to coming back and cannot recommend them enough!

I had a very good experience here. The lobby is clean and comfortable, with a relaxing atmosphere. My therapist Megan started the session on time, listened to my needs and she is very knowledgeable. After just one session my neck and back pain decreased and mobility increased. I already scheduled a follow up session and recommended this for anyone who needs an expert to help in the healing process.

I’ve been dealing with chronic pain in my left shoulder, upper back and neck for years now. Traditional massage has only provided temporary relief. Two sessions here and although I still have pain, I can feel the progress being made.

What Is Neuromuscular Therapy?

Unlike a Swedish massage, neuromuscular massage focuses on deep, targeted pressure. It works on the areas where muscles tighten into painful knots, often deep within the body.

During a session, your massage therapist finds the spots where your body holds tension. These are called trigger points. Then, using steady pressure, they help the muscle release.

The work can feel intense, especially at first. But as the tension eases, blood returns to the area and brings fresh oxygen and nutrients. This supports healing and helps the muscle relax.

Sessions usually last between 30 and 90 minutes. You might feel a little sore after, which is a normal part of recovery.

Therapists Trained in Advanced Techniques

Therapists at Return to Harmony are experts in neuromuscular massage, deep tissue massage, and sports massage. We personalize each session based on your condition, whether you’re dealing with fibromyalgia, lower back issues, or chronic neck pain.

We Help You Unwind Years of Built-Up Tension

Musculoskeletal issues don’t show up all at once. They often come from years of poor posture, repeated movements, or shifting your body to avoid pain from past injuries. These habits lead to the muscle imbalances we focus on during treatment.

Many clients sleep better after just a few sessions. Some regain the ability to turn their head or bend without pain.

Each improvement builds on the last. Over time, your body moves more easily and feels more at ease.

FAQs

Is this like a deep tissue massage?

Neuromuscular massage goes deeper than a full-body session. It targets specific muscles and trigger points that often affect posture and nerve function.

Will it feel painful?

Some pressure may feel intense, especially over tight areas. Your therapist will adjust based on your comfort and feedback.

How many sessions should I schedule?

Most people start with two or three sessions. Some feel improvement after one. Ongoing care can help manage long-term pain and prevent issues from returning.
